We were chosen for the Perot Golan project because of our many years of experience in developing software, in general, and our understanding of the needs and requirements of cold storage and packaging plants, more specifically. This was especially so after Perot Golan recognized that the existing ERP software on the market did not fulfill the special needs for cold storage packaging plants.
In the first stage, Anagal and Perot Golan worked together to defined the main goals of the project:
- Ability to control all the planning information from one system.
- Abandoning various support systems.
- Connection to the information system from all locations.
- On-line updating of all data.
During the project, tools were integrated into the system for retrieving data that enabled the comparison of the harvest plan and its implementation and between the marketing plan and actual sales, giving the specific time of the updated report. The system also displayedthe data graphically.
At the same time, Anagal integrated into the Perot Golan system an organizational dictionary of concepts that included clear definitions of relevant professional terms.
Anagal’s software solution for management of agricultural produce created integration between all types of data and enabled the organization to work with one inclusive system.
At the project's conclusion Perot Golan had full "anytime- anywhere" knowledge and access online about the status of produce stocks- form order intake to marketing- and the status of the customer.

The Challenge
Rafkor, one of Israel's largest packing houses, had used the same software system for years. Outdated and inefficient, this package did not provide the solution Rafkor needed to run a sophisticated packing operation. Finding itself at a dead end, Rafkor turned to Anagal. Based on long experience in software development, full understanding of packhouse and cooling operations and topnotch customer support, Anagal's Microsoft.NET-based
software promised to meet Rafkor's needs.
Solution
Anagal software addressed Rafkor's top priorities, providing:
- Transparency – allows viewing of all packing house data by growers, including selection results, inventory and sales.
- On-line work with PDAs – enables updating of fruit movement within the packhouse and cooling area. Anagal software monitors all inventory from the moment it arrives at the packhouse to the time it leaves for market.
- Ubiquitity – lets Rafkor salespeople and managers work with the system anywhere. Anagal software provides full control, at any time, at any point, until the inventory goes to market, as well as obligo to customers and orders received. In short, the system supplies a complete online picture of all customer activities.
- Initial monitoring – checks fruit as it arrives to the packing house and cooling areas. Allows for proper planning by determining opening dates for each cooling room, as well as which fruit is suited to each cooling room.
- Remote ability – enables retrieval of data by Internet. This model has the ability to differentiate between corporations of growers.
- Complete synchronization with accounting systems
Looking Ahead
Satisfied with Anagal's software for the packhouse and cooling arenas, Rafkor sought a comprehensive solution to all its computerization needs. Today, Rafkor plans to outfit itself with all of Anagal's hardware and infrastructure-related services. Anagal will maintain Rafkor's servers and security camera systems, and, of course, will provide full professional guidance for all its software users.
